Happy 1st Birthday to Mary Margaret! We celebrated her birthday with my family in Chicago on her actual birthday, Oct. 6. Hard to believe it has already been a year since we added her to our family. She makes us smile every day and is a happy, curious, content baby. She loves to be with people which is probably from having 3 big brothers. She waves hello and says hi, especially to people who sit behind us at Mass. Mary is an observant explorer and very tactile. She likes to touch/feel things and will pick up the tiniest things off the floor. She likes to "read" books to us, jump in the jump-a-roo, play with her brothers and dance to music. Mary will play with toys by herself and keep herself entertained. We are so happy you are part of our family Mary. We love you!

Mary opened her presents from our family before we left for her birthday weekend. The boys each picked out something for her at Target and paid for part of it. They really enjoyed shopping for their little sister. It was fun to watch.
 |
| She was very excited when she saw the first present. |
 |
| George got her a new ball popper. We've already worn out two ball poppers. |
 |
| Andy wanted to buy Mary a dress. He found her an outfit with giraffe pants, shirt and a fleece jacket. Not quite a dress but good enough in his book. |
 |
Zack got Mary a ball that looks like a penguin and makes noise when it rolls around.

We celebrated Mary's 1st and our nephew Henry's 3rd (Oct. 10) birthday with lunch at Red Robin. Yum.

| Henry was very excited about the balloons his mommy picked out. She got Mickey and Minnie plates and napkins too. Great idea! |

| Cake time for Henry and Mary |
Mary wore the same hat that all the boys wore for their first birthday. As my dad said, I had to "girlify it" by changing out the blue balls for pink ones.

| Mary is ready for cake. |
 |
| She dove right in to the tasty red velvet cake. |
 |
| Look at that concentration. |

| Cake face. She ate every bit of her cake and really enjoyed it. |

We had a good time celebrating Mary and Henry's birthday together. Like you said Jennie, it probably won't be the only time we do that. I love the outfit Andy picked out for Mary. Such fun for big brothers to have a little sister!
