Significant weather event

Here are some pictures taken this morning of our neighborhood lake to show you the "abundant" rainfall we've received here in the past 24 hours.  We got 9 inches in 12 hours overnight and that was on top of the 6 ++ inches we received since Friday.  Our county schools are closed today with roads flooded out, lots of homes with flooded basements or worse, cars totally submerged.  I saw a  neighbor from the other side of the lake and they couldn't get out of the subdivision first thing this morning because the creeks had spilled over onto the road.  Thankfully we are doing fine, just a few wetspots in the basement.  The lake is creeping way up into our backyard, see last few pictures, so we'll be keeping an eye on it. Possibly 4 or 5 more inches of rain to come this afternoon.  Joe said he saw the animals lining up 2 x 2.

This is the boat ramp to launch your boat.  Pool is on the left.

This deck usually sits above the lake and overlooks the water.

If you look closely you can see the swings on the playground flapping around behind the pavilion.
