Apple picking 2012

Fall isn't complete without a trip to the apple orchard.  We made our visit on Sept. 16.  We picked apples, we ate apples, we jumped, slid, twirled, and played, we watched pig races, we watched a pumpkin cannon, we ate more apples and we went home.  We came home with three pooping pig toys thanks to the pig races.  Have you ever seen one of these things?  It is pretty hilarious and totally gross at the same time.  I have three if you want a demo.  I also got the cutest picture ever of Mary.  Yes, I am biased and yes, once you see the picture, you'll know why I said it.

We're on the wagon ready to ride out to the orchard.

George said, look Mommy, I got one with a leaf.

I got a tiny one Mommy, said Andy.

I'm an apple picker, said Zack.  The kids all took apples to their teachers that Monday.  

Time for the rides.  You pay one fee to get into the orchard and the kids can do whatever they choose.

Andy had to fly a blue bomber.

George wanted to ride the swings.  

 The giant jumping pillow is always a big hit.  They take turns letting the little kids jump and then the big kids.

We also did the spinning apples ride, a tractor ride in small wagons, the underground mining slide, mini-golf and played on the playground equipment.

Then, time for the pumpkin cannon.  Uncle Jessie fires it three times.  First with one pumpkin, the 2nd time with two and the third time with three.  He has several kids come up to help him load the cannon and countdown.  It is big fun.
