George celebrated his seventh birthday with friends at the Donut Palace and Creative Cookie Kitchen. The kids decorated cookies and cookie boxes, bobbed for donuts (be sure to watch the videos), competed in a donut relay and ate donut cake, of course.

Cookie Box Decorating
As the guests arrived, they decorated cookie boxes. The kids were busy adding their names, stickers and designs to customize their treat box.

Cookie Decorating
George chose a topsy turvy cake, heart and dog shaped cookies for the kids to decorate. Kelly, the party planner/store owner, gave a decorating demonstration. Each child had two colors of frosting in tubs to paint on the cookies first, two frosting bags to pipe frosting and a tub of mini M&Ms and chocolate chips.

Bobbing for Donuts
The kids got to bob for donuts hanging on a string from the ceiling. They had to eat their donut using no hands. If it fell on the floor, you were done. It was hilarious watching them. I've included two video clips so you can see the action.

Eli with the blonde hair is a fellow donut lover like George. Once he finally got a bite of a donut he said, "these are really yummy!"
Zack was the first one to finish. In other words, his donut fell on the floor first.

Donut Relay
The other game was a donut relay. Each child had to scoop a donut out of the box using the stick, carry it back to their team and drop it in the box.

Would you expect anything other than a donut cake at a donut party? Yes, there were 8 candles and no, George is not 8. He is 7. He just got one extra for good luck.

Thanks to all who came and celebrated with us. One of George's friends said it was the best party ever. When his mom asked why, he said, "because we got to eat donuts AND have fun!" Well said.
