Are you ready for some football (weather)?

After the rain stopped, cooler temps. were the order of the day on Sunday at the river.  The boys enjoyed a football game of 4 vs. 1 this Labor Day weekend.  All 4 Swayne boys vs. Uncle Mojo, a.k.a. Joe.
The Huddle
The Pass
Oh no, Uncle Mojo got the ball (this time anyway)
This time they gave the ball to Andy.
He scores!  Way to go Ando.
The water was low enough that we finally had some beach.  George, our collector, had a ball searching for shells, rocks, nuts, sticks and anything else that washed up onshore.
He also had to throw a few things in the water to see what sinks and what floats.  Rocks and shells sink Mommy, sticks float, even the big ones.
We enjoyed a couple of boat rides on the pontoon, the annual pork roast at the Catholic church in Bellevue, a cookout with the hot dogs made by Zack (our new Cub Scout), a campfire, playing bean bags and a trip to the orchard for apples.  It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend and we enjoyed catching up with my parents and the Werth family.  My nephew Henry will be two in October and he and Andy did pretty well playing together.  It was my last chance to travel before the baby arrives!  Thankfully the cooler weather followed us home.  It was 99 when we left Fenton on Friday afternoon and this morning it is 58 degrees with a high today of 75.  I'll take it!

Zack attended his first Cub Scout den meeting last week.  It was the kick-off cookout for the year and he had such a good time.
Soccer season kicks into full gear this week with Zack and George both playing games on Saturdays from now until November.  Zack's team played in a tournament in St. Louis last week.
