Giant baby leg goes green
Cast, what cast? I can still eat my toes...sort of.
Andy is trying to figure out how to crawl with the cast, it is heavier than the splint and a bit trickier to manuever. So no walking for a few more weeks....rats.
Apparently Andy's injury is not unusual, everyone there today said this is the most common way for a child this age to break their leg. News to me after being a mom for six years so save yourself some trouble, DON'T GO DOWN SLIDES WITH LITTLE KIDS IN YOUR LAP! The other way is playing on a trampoline or in a jumpy house.
In other family medical news, Joe met with the eye surgeon this morning to schedule surgery to correct the cataract in his left eye. He goes on Sept. 30 for the surgery to replace the lens in his eye. The operation itself takes 15 minutes but it will take about two hours for Joe to go through the process. He will no longer need a prescription for his left eye so he may start wearing a contact lens in his right eye. Joe's first time without glasses in almost 33 years, weird. (Joe's word, not mine). We'll keep you posted.
Not to be outdone, Zack and George went to the dentist this afternoon. George has a watch on one tooth, otherwise we escaped with new toothbrushes and shiny clean teeth.
We snuck in a short camping trip this weekend to Lake Allatoona at the highly recommended McKinney campground, about 45 minutes from our house. Awesome place!
Zack's opinion on playing at the beach and eating roasted marshmallows (two highlights of the trip)
George ate his first real s'more! He usually just eats all the marshmallows before we can cook them.
Joe trying to keep up with roasting demand.
Hey, look at me, I'm eating outside!
What a crew. Check out the nice rock area too, very nice since it had rained all day Friday. Otherwise our site would have been a mudball.
Zack breaking in our new ladderball set that we bought on vacation.
Whoa, no worries about losing Andrew anymore with that bright green cast! It does look like it would be hard to crawl in! Maybe he'll learn how to hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to get away for a short camping trip that didn't take 12 hours of driving to get there. Love, Dude
